Ogstons is a small Boutique Hotel in the centre of St Andrews. Owned by local entrpreneur Fraser Ogston and run by General Manager Alasdair Knight, the hotel has seen a complete refurbishment over the last 2 years and has raised both the standards of accommodation and service beyond that of its 3 Star rating. This is evident in the Hotel being nominated for Small Hotel of the Year in the 2010 Golf Tourism Scotland Hotel Awards. The hotel is centrally located within easy walking distance of the Old Course, University and town amenities. Ogstons incorporates the Oak Rooms Restaurant & Bar and Lizard Lounge Bar, both very popluar and renowned social venues. In the weekends the hotel is often booked by visitors who use the hotel as their base for enjoying St. Andrews, be it for the world famous golfing facilities, for the various tourist attractions such as the Byre Theatre and the St Andrews Aquarium or for just a lazy weekend away from it all. There are plenty of very attractive picturesque fishing villages only minutes away from St. Andrews; ideal starting points for the various beautiful coastal walks.

By Train Nearest station is Leuchars (5 miles) on the main line from London (King's Cross) - Edinburgh - Aberdeen, St. Andrews may be reached by car, taxi or by bus service from Leuchars (2 to 3 buses per hour between 9 am and 6 pm and less frequently at other times). Travel by late overnight sleeper is convenient if met by car or taxi. By Plane Airports at Glasgow and Edinburgh offer plenty of connections both nationally and internationally. Additionally you can fly into Dundee Airport from a variety of British cities, including London City Airport. Car hire is available from the major firms at airports and in city centres. From Edinburgh Airport, you can proceed by bus to the centre of Edinburgh (Waverly Station) and then by rail to Leuchars. By Bus There are inter-city express coaches operating between most major cities in England and Scotland. Coaches from London operate mainly from London Victoria Coach Station, although some services pick-up at London Heathrow Central Bus Station. The journey is about 8-9 hours as opposed to about 5 hours by train.
